Terms of Service

Effective date: September 1, 2026

Short version: You buy Ahem! once for $6.99 and get a perpetual license to use it. No subscriptions, no recurring charges. Install it on your personal machines, use it as long as you like.

1. Agreement

By downloading, installing, or using Ahem! ("the app", "we", "our"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. License

Upon purchase, you are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual license to install and use Ahem! on computers you own or control. This license is for personal or professional use by a single user.

You may not:

  • Redistribute, resell, sublicense, or share your license key with others
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the app
  • Use the app as part of a product or service you sell to others

3. One-time purchase

Ahem! is sold as a one-time purchase. There are no subscriptions, no renewal fees, and no recurring charges of any kind. You pay once and the license is yours indefinitely.

Future updates to the app are included at no additional cost. We reserve the right to change pricing for new purchases at any time, but this will never affect licenses already issued.

4. Purchases and refunds

Ahem! is available through multiple storefronts:

  • Polar — our direct checkout, unlocking both the Windows and Mac builds with a single purchase. Seat-based discounts apply automatically at checkout for volume purchases (10+ seats, scaling through 250+). Polar's Terms of Service apply to the payment transaction itself.
  • Microsoft Store — available via the Windows Store, for the Windows build only. Purchases made through the Microsoft Store are governed by Microsoft's Services Agreement.
  • Mac App Store — available via the Mac App Store, for the Mac build only. Purchases made there are governed by Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions.

Because Ahem! is a digital product delivered immediately upon purchase, all sales are generally final. If you experience a technical issue that prevents the app from working as described and we are unable to resolve it, please contact us and we will review your situation on a case-by-case basis.

5. System requirements

Ahem! is available for Windows 10 and Windows 11, and for Mac. It is not available for, and will not function on, Linux or any other operating system. iCloud Calendar support is available on both Windows and Mac — on Windows via CalDAV using an Apple ID email and app-specific password, on Mac via Apple's native EventKit framework. Please verify compatibility before purchasing.

6. Calendar access

Ahem! uses OAuth 2.0 to connect to Google Calendar and/or Outlook / Microsoft 365, on both Windows and Mac. By connecting a calendar account, you authorize the app to read your calendar event data on your local machine. The app requests read-only access and cannot modify your calendars. You may revoke this authorization at any time through your Google or Microsoft account settings.

On Mac, Ahem! also supports iCloud Calendar via Apple's native EventKit framework rather than OAuth — a macOS-managed permission grant, revocable at any time through System Settings → Privacy & Security → Calendars. On Windows, which has no equivalent built-in permission system, iCloud Calendar is supported via CalDAV: you authorize the app using your Apple ID email and an app-specific password (generated at appleid.apple.com, not your regular Apple ID password). This access is read-only, and you may revoke it at any time either by disconnecting the account in Ahem!'s settings or by deleting the app-specific password at appleid.apple.com.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

Ahem! is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or perfectly compatible with every system configuration. Calendar connectivity depends on third-party APIs and frameworks (Google, Microsoft, and Apple's EventKit framework and iCloud CalDAV service) that are outside our control.

Use of the app is at your own risk. We are not responsible for missed meetings or any consequences arising from reliance on the app's reminders.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, Ahem! — including but not limited to missed meetings, lost work, or lost business opportunities. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app.

9. Updates and changes

We may update the app from time to time. Updates are provided to improve functionality or fix issues and are included with your license. We may also update these Terms; material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date above.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Slovak Republic. If you are a consumer located in the European Union, you also benefit from any mandatory consumer protection provisions of the law of your country of residence.

Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of the Slovak Republic, unless applicable EU consumer law grants you the right to bring proceedings in your country of residence.
